Dental Implants
The Art and Science of Dental Implants…
Dental Implants are one of the fastest
growing services in the field of dentistry today.
Patients who previously suffered from missing teeth,
loose dentures, ill fitting partials and collapse of
facial structures are now taking advantage of dental
implants to solve these problems.
Dental Implants can literally improve
your smile, ability to eat and speak with confidence. So
What are dental implants??? They are replacement tooth
roots made of titanium that are placed into the jaw to
which either the crown or denture is attached. The
procedure is generally comfortable and the implants
become anchored to the bone and become a part of the
body.

The initial phase of dental implants
is to have the implants placed, At this time the doctor
determines if the implants can have temporary crowns or
dentures attached to them the same day of implant
placement. In other cases the implants require several
months of maturation before they are restored with
crowns or dentures. It generally takes anywhere from
four to six months for the implants to become completely
secured.
Dental implants have been the subject
of over 35 years of intensive research world wide
,proving them to be safe and effective dental procedure
with success rates of over 95%. Dental implants can
improve the quality of life, and preserve that bone that
is lost when teeth are lost, hence keeping that young
look . .
Frequently asked questions….
Will it hurt??
Local anesthesia is used for many
cases and many patients tell that it is similar to
having a tooth pulled. How long will it take ?? It
usually takes 4 to 6 months for the whole treatment to
be completed.
How long will they last??
They will last much longer than
conventional dental work as long as u take care of them.
What happens if I wait???
Tooth loss leads to bone loss which is
progressive and can lead to severe bone loss/ treatment
at that time is more involved and needs additional bone
grafting procedures.
I already have dentures, can i
still get dental implants??
Yes two or four implants can be
placed and that serves as an anchor for the dentures and
chewing will be greatly enhanced.
